Building Bonds and Cultivating Confidence: ZIVAN R&D Team Building Day

At ZIVAN's R&D Team, innovation isn't just about technology; it's about fostering a collaborative environment where individuals thrive, and ideas flourish. On April 23rd 2024, the team experienced a transformative day of team building orchestrated by ZAPI GROUP HR and led by People Labs, a seasoned expert in unlocking human potential within organizations.

The main theme: becoming a stronger team

The main theme and goal of the team building day was clear: strengthen the identity of the R&D team to work well together, a key aspect to be presided over and coached to achieve excellent results and generate motivation and a sense of belonging.
The ZIVAN R&D Team represents a formidable force in innovation, consisting of 20 individuals who possess a diverse range of skills and competencies. From hardware, software, application, to mechanical engineering and design, each member brings valuable expertise to the table. Over the past years, the team has undergone significant growth, expanding to its current robust composition. By fostering synergy and cohesion across disciplines, the team aims to unlock new frontiers of technological advancement and propel ZIVAN to the forefront of innovation. The final goal aims to developing shared ways and effective work processes whilst nurturing an environment in which people feel valued and are stimulated to give their best.  

These are some of the reasons why ZAPI GROUP HR contacted a subject matter expert in team working like People Labs, an organization based in Modena (IT) consisting of a team of professionals with over 30 years of experience. Through the expertise of People Labs professionals Ms. Giorgia Campana - Consultant and Trainer, coach with ICF International Coach accreditation – and Ms. Gilda Sciulli - Trainer e Coordinator - we were able to structure a Training Path in collaboration with CIS Formazione, Society of Unindustria Reggio Emilia, designed to develop shared ways and effective work processes, acquire methods and tools to work seamlessly together in ZIVAN R&D daily endeavors, and foster a spirit of collaboration to achieve even greater results.

The team building day structure and approach

People Labs followed a structured approach encompassing roles, processes, communication flows, and a commitment to continuous improvement. 
Through an experiential methodology, ZIVAN R&D have worked through exercises and group dynamics, implementing particular challenges to help all participants be aware of the reactions and behaviors implemented, reinforcing the most productive, positive and collaborative ones.

The day alternated practical and theorical activities, including a discussion on the importance of roles, working method and trust as the glue of the team. After the many experiences and challenges, the day closed with a call to action, guided by the Coaching approach, in which the participants were invited to think about concrete actions to be implemented and unhelpful behaviors to be guarded against, and possibly eliminated, in daily teamwork.

Through collaborative problem-solving challenges and role-playing scenarios, individuals honed their communication skills and gained the confidence to contribute actively to the team's goals.
  • Cultivating Trust: Trust is the bedrock of any successful team. Without trust, collaboration falters, and progress stagnates. Recognizing this, the team at ZIVAN delved into exercises aimed at building trust and fostering a culture of openness and transparency. By engaging in trust falls, blindfolded navigation challenges, and team-building games, individuals learned to rely on one another, communicate effectively, and appreciate each other's strengths.

Looking ahead

As the day drew to a close, the energy within the ZIVAN R&D department was palpable. The bonds forged, the confidence gained, and the trust cultivated set the stage for future innovation and collaboration. Armed with a deeper understanding of each other's strengths and a renewed sense of purpose, the team is poised to tackle challenges head-on. 
In the fast-paced world of technology and innovation, the human element remains paramount.

ZIVAN's investment in team building reflects not only its commitment to fostering a supportive workplace culture but also its recognition of the invaluable role that personal relationships and confidence play in driving success. Our people are our greatest asset and the team building day on April 23, 2024, was a testament to this ZIVAN’s.
